Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council has issued a formal warning to a resident over clutter at a Bukit Panjang void deck, requiring the items to be removed by March 30.

The clutter at the void deck of Block 472 Segar Road has been an issue for years.

Stomper W first alerted Stomp to the problem in September 2024, claiming the void deck had turned into a “junkyard” and a safety hazard.

When contacted by Stomp, the town council said at the time: “Our property team has reached out to the resident involved and issued a formal advisory, advising them to remove the clutter by Oct 6, 2024.”

But on Oct 21, 2024, the clutter was still there, according to the Stomper. The only change was a new security camera installed on the wall above the “junkyard”.

Fast-forward to March 19, 2026, the Stomper spotted another camera being installed on the wall above the clutter and wanted to know why. He shared photos of two workers with a step-ladder installing the camera amid the “junkyard”, which appeared to be still there after 16 months.

A spokesperson for Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council explained that the new camera that the Stomper saw being installed is part of the Police Camera (PolCam) project.

Regarding the clutter, the spokesperson said on March 24 that it would be stepping up its public education efforts with community volunteers to raise awareness on the importance of keeping common areas clear and free from obstruction.

“Our property team has reached out to the resident involved and issued a formal warning, requiring them to remove the clutter by March 30,” the spokesperson told Stomp.

However, on March 31, the Stomper returned to the block and took a video of several clothes racks, two folded tables and two e-bikes in the common area.

“The bikes have been parked there for more than three years,” said W. “It has become their personal lot.”

In response to another Stomp query, the town council spokesperson said on April 2: “Following a recent site inspection, we noted that the area has been cleared and is now in a much neater condition, with the racks removed.”

The town council shared a photo of the area with only two tables and two e-bikes remaining.

“We will continue to monitor the situation closely and have advised the owner to refrain from placing any items at the bicycle bay,” added the spokesperson.
